The Past Week

I’ve been busy wrapping up my final weeks in Copenhagen and my Junior Year Abroad, and I’ve been doing so much that I can’t even keep up with blog posts. I still owe Morocco a grand blog entry, but that will have to wait for a while. Last week I finished up Watercolor, presented my final Architecture project (a year-round boat rental on the Copenhagen harbour), and of course had some adventures with my friends. The pictures below are just a taste of my past week or so: celebrating in the Botanical Gardens, finishing my model, going to Malmö, Sweden for the Öresundsfestival (Fallulah, Kashmir, When Saints Go Machine), and a quick shot of my new ink. Rejse, or trip, journey, voyage.

As I said, I’ve been doing so much that I can’t even keep up. I’m currently writing for a deck overlooking the old town of Nice, France. Updates soon!

hilsen,

Sam

8 Tallet

Life has been crazy. Ever since returning from Morocco two weeks ago it has been go go go at school. And sadly, my days abroad are numbered so it’s all bittersweet trying to fit in Copenhagen adventures whilst canceling your Fitness World membership. It’s started to wind down a tad at the DIS, but I still have some final projects to finish (such as, um, that thing called studio). I haven’t had much time to even look at my pictures from Africa, but I promise they’ll be going up soon (and you won’t be disappointed).

In other news, Denmark had “National Prayer Day” last Friday which meant no school! To celebrate, my friends Bea and Mad traveled out to BIG’s 8 Tallet, or 8 House south of KBH. Here is some pictures from our adventure:

A Little Vienna Déjà Vu

Hej!

Well, hjem igen (home again). Back in the cold north. Before jumping into my time in Morocco and what’s next for my remaining time at good old DIS, I wanted to taake et awwhn back to my weekend in glamorous Wien with the one and only Camille Saunders and her awesome crew at the Villa. It was a really fun weekend of shenanigans, Austrian charm, and a great museum. Check it out:

And BOOM, It’s Morocco

I haven’t yet blogged about my trip last weekend to Vienna, but since I’m already in the center (literally) of my next adventure, it will have to wait.

I’m currently writing this from my mint-green closet sized hostel room right off from Djemma el-Fna in the beating heart of Marakech, Morocco. And I’m not exaggerating: the center square is truly, “the greatest show on earth.”

Marrakech is so overwhelming. People every which way, fruit vendors, beggars, belly dancers, and a million motorcycles. It’s my first night here and I am now getting the hang of things, but at first it was a culture shock. Whoa, we are not in Europe anymore. Thank god I took Spanish so I could semi understand our French speaking taxi. Also there are scams galore. I’ve already payed way to much for things (taxi, having someone show us to our hostel) haha. You live and you learn. I can see my bank account really starting to dwindle.

Anyway, Todd and I ate at the main square tonight (I had full grilled fish, Todd had delicious or so he says, meat of some sort). We found bottled water and maneuvered our way though crowds and crowds back to our hole in the wall hostel.

Blogging from the iPhone. Ready to sleep off the shock and go full blast tomorrow.

I am equally stress and excited. Traveling is just as scary as it is addicting. To travel is to live, or something corny like that.

Hilsen,

Sam
